Since 2016, the USC Political Union has been promoting healthy civil discourse among Trojans about politics, policy, and current events.

We meet every week with the aim of bridging the divide between people from different political backgrounds. The myriad of events we organize is all in the spirit of broadening horizons and exposing people to new ideas in a respectful manner.

Meetings

The Center for the Political Future organizes a wide variety of political events at USC. Last year they hosted and televised the LA Mayoral Debate between Karen Bass and Rick Caruso held at USC. Our members get priority access to all CPF events: you’ll be the first to know about them and the first to be able to sign up.

CPF Events

Internships

We pair our members with faculty at USC who will personally help find them internships and give guidance on writing applications and interviewing. Our upperclassmen have a wealth of experience and are more than happy to give advice to our younger members.

Speakers

We invite speakers from all parts of the political world and public intellectuals to facilitate our discussions. In the past, we have had the privilege of hosting Members of Congress, the California State Assembly, LA County Board of Supervisors, Legal experts, Social Activists and more.

Networking

Being at the core of politics at USC means you’ll be exposed to many different people across the political world. Whether you want to work locally, in Sacramento or in D.C., we will help connect you with the right person.

Social Events

We organize two big social events, one at the beginning and one at the end of the semester. Being respectful and open-minded outside of meetings is critical for reducing polarization in the wider community. And it’s fun!
