We were originally founded as the Unruh Associates in 2016 as the student arm of the Unruh Institute of Politics at USC. The name Unruh refers to Jesse M. Unruh, also known as Big Daddy Unruh, who was an American politician who served as speaker of the California State Assembly and as the California State Treasurer.
